Edmonton’s Transportation System: Issues and Priorities

Dorian Wandzura is a professional engineer with a strong background in leading large, complex organizations. Born in Edmonton, Dorian earned his mechanical engineering degree in Saskatoon from the University of Saskatchewan. Aside from professional responsibilities in Dorian’s career, he has held many leadership positions in both professional and community organizations.

Dorian has worked in increasingly responsible roles in many prairie municipalities including, Yorkton, Moose Jaw, Regina and Saskatoon. Most recently Dorian held the position of the Deputy City Manager and Chief Operating Officer at the City of Regina. Dorian joined the City of Edmonton as the General Manager of Transportation Services in September of this year.

Coming in as the new General Manager, Dorian has spent some time listening to city council, staff, and stakeholders. Dorian will outline some of the issues that he has heard and will discuss priorities for the department and the City’s transportation system. There will be a chance for some questions and answers as well as a meet-and-greet with Dorian after his presentation.
