Manchester LRT Expansion

Tamsin will present a brief overview of the expansion of the Manchester Metrolink Light Rail System in the UK, including a case study of her work on the planning of 2 new extension lines, and some of the challenges involved.  This experience led to her transferring to WSP Canada Rail Systems Engineering in 2016, and her current position as the Deputy Project Manager for the Edmonton Metro North LRT extension.

Tamsin is an accomplished and multi-disciplined senior project manager with over 20 years’ experience in technical, professional and engineering management roles.  She has been responsible for design, technical, financial, and program management for projects with a wide variety of values, forms of contract, nature and scope of works. Tamsin is experienced in leading design activities, liaising and coordinating between many different stakeholders including transit system owners & operators, external consultants, local municipalities and internal departments and reporting to clients as a designer, supervisor and project manager.

Tamsin has worked with WSP UK and WSP Canada since 2006.  Her major roles have been secondment to Transport for Greater Manchester as part of the program management, design and delivery team for major LRT projects currently in development and construction, and Deputy Project Manager for the Edmonton Metro North LRT extension, currently progressing concept plan validation and preliminary engineering of the 11km extension from NAIT to Campbell Road.
